Is that a goiod thing or a bad thing?
I know I respond to great many posts here most days. I usually can make a point of what I have on my mind in a sentence or less. Since I am a lousy typist it works for me. When you post and read the responses would you rather see a well thought out and well worded paragraph or more or do you appreciate a short response? I am just wondering what you think. For me I can read into someone's response what they meant usually.

it's hard to say (depends on the post) sometimes a person needs to see through example or other times a short reply is good. it seems the more emotion that is shared the less words are necessary; if one is in a debate about ethics/history/politics then maybe a lengthy reply is necessary?

It really is subjective for me. I mean I do like making a nice long post to emphasise a point or to argue a point, that usually happens when it's something I have expertise in. But with a shorter post, as long as the point is made I don't see the problem with it.

Considering I am one of those people who generally says what I mean in few words it fits with who I am.

When something triggers an emotion in me I usually can hit back with a long post. Either to show I understand where a person is coming from, to lend support or because something was said that pissed me off. But I do like to write. Other times I respond, briefly, with a sarcastic remark ;)

I can get passionate and wordy when something really gets me going but I prefer a short response to a long one. Could be my ADD, ADHD, or whatever other alphabet soup works for short attention span. ooh shiny!

In general, I like longer posts. To me, longer posts seem to content more honest interest, while shorter post may be just a form of politeness. That doesn't mean that everyone has to write a whole novel every time, when answering. But here and then... ;)

I'd say it depends. Sometimes a long post is necessary because of the topic in hand but in other threads a concise post is better.

Yeah, depends on the post and if I find the topic interesting. I generally find that longer posts become rather tedious to read and I end up skipping over most of them anyway.
