beer measures to change

raising the price by reducing the volume is a standard manufacturer's tactic. republic tobacco has been pulling that shit this year with their 'top' and 'drum' brand.

over here they're crafty,we're a nation that mainly uses old inperial measures, pint of beer, milk etc....or a dozen......that was until they saw that petrol was getting expensive for a gallon,so a litre costs less

a gallon's worth of liters costs more than a gallon in the states everywhere i've ever been that sold it by the liter.

republic tobacco reduced the volume of top from 0.65 oz to 0.35 or something like that and dropped the price some, but the cost per ounce increased. on drum, they reduced the package from 1.41 oz to 1.1 or 1.2 and left the price the same. both products have been disappearing from shelves all over the place. drum just got dropped by HEB, the local supermarket chain.

serves them right. first they reduced the quality of the product by not removing the stems when they cut the tobacco and now this? screw them -- i'm looking elsewhere.

i know my beer;)

Yes and I remember when they changed the size of beer glasses here.. Basturds made sure it was at the same time as an increase in alcohol tax so the cost of a beer did not go down.. My only consolation was I did not drink much beer when I was younger so it did not impact me at all.. Now I don't drink at all, so none what so ever.. :D

When I was in Australia, schooners were sold every where and were the biggest measurement in most pubs.:thumbdown It felt kind of gay going into a pub to ask for a schooner. I forecast a load of schooner glasses gathering dust on the shelf as people prefer to carry on drinking pints.
