hogwash... thats not how society works, theres too many ppl with an ego problem. Do you believe in this? This came to mind as I was listening to a commercial on The Fine Living Network. I guess it was about bettering ones self. I could be nice to someone til hell froze over if they just don't like you they aren't going to be nice back to you. Too many people are superficial and thinking before they get to know someone.

Sad but true.

I try to be as nice to everyone as I can be.
but more often than not, people take the fact that they do not know you as an invitation to find a way to take advantage of your kindness/friendliness, etc...

However not everyone is like that, some people return the favor or at least acknowledge you.

Case and point: I work in an office environment (a hospital) no naturally nurture, and care, friendliness is highly encouraged... I make it a point to tell everyone i see in the morning "Good mornin'" and a good 75% of the people dont even bother on acknowledging me lol. I am by no means a morning person but when it comes to it, its just manners that my momma taught me.

Often, I do get satisfaction when someone either acknowledges a good morning and i realize that not everyone is an ass haha
 
You have to learn that people who are mean and are assholes already know that they are that way. So don't give them attention and they will figure out that most people like to be with nice fun outgoing people.

In addition, everyone stereotypes no matter what. It's a fact that no one in this society cannot not sterotype. Word!
 
I try to respect people the same way I expect to be respected. If someone is disrespectful then to quote Boomer "That is a whole different story". I was raised to treat everyone the same.
 
These statements look good on a quotation page or in a book .... in pratical life just mind your own business ... let thy words be few and keep going ... no need to say bad or good abt others ...
 
People aren't nice to me just because I am nice to them. But I will not allow it to make me hard hearted or cynical. I will continue, even though I slip at times, to be kind to people, to be sincere, and to genuinely care about the trials and tribulations that are going on in their life. And to celebrate their victories and blessings with them. Give and expect nothing back in return. The blessing is in the giving, even though you may not see the positive ripple effect that it may have on other years from now. Being nice is beautiful like that. ;)
