I read some good reviews. Said it was like Black Hawk Down with aliens.

I was told it was like Cloverfield/Independence Day and it was slammed in some review. I'll wait for rental on this one, just like I did District 9, although I did like District 9 when I finally saw it.

I don't see the comparisons to Independence Day at all except that there is a power source/command center thats operating the flying drones. Its way better than Independence Day. Its similar to Cloverfield in that we don't know jack about them they just show up and start kicking our asses.

I hated Cloverfield. If this is anything like that, I refuse to watch it. However, Maulds described it quite nicely, I may give it a shot.

And Aaron Eckhart is yummy.

I went and saw it yesterday afternoon... it was freaking awesome.

Personally, I love alien movies... especially invasion type. This wasn't as much an alien movie as it was a war movie. It reminded me a lot of Saving Private Ryan to be honest (though not nearly as good), or like someone else mentioned - Black Hawk Down. So it was like a war movie with an alien premise. I'll definitely be picking this one up on Blu-Ray when it comes out.

Its decent.

I saw it stoned it was a fun ride, nothing more I didn't care about the characters or their well being.
Cool part was camp pendleton and other local small landmarks on the big screen, for me
