I didn't think food stamps was such a bad thing.....oh the shame of knowing you were on food stamps....sooo? Maybe that's an incentive to get the hell off! It sure would raise flags not to be used on lottery tickets.....

I don't think any Government can stop or even wants to stop anyone from buying lottery tickets because the system is just setup as a form of voluntary taxation.

Make a debit card for welfare recipients to get only required items and people will buy those and sell them to others for cash and get lottery tickets anyway. It's a great talking point that everyone knows will never work.

Uh yeah because they did the same thing with food stamps before the EBT card was implemented. :tooth

I agree but I think I might of been more so so people aren't pawning their stamps for cash or stealing others stamps. With the EBT card, you need to have the pin number so there is less chance of fraudulence.

Really, a PIN number will stop people from handing over an EBT card to someone else and give them their PIN number to use as if it was them.. Yah suuuuuuure.. :24:

No not handing over but people also stole foodstamps. You can steal an EBT card but it's useless without the PIN number to use it. It's not a Debit card that you can use as a credit without the number.

I remember when they pushed the lottery in NC (part of the Bible Belt you know lol) and everyone pushing it claimed how much money would go to education and help our schools.

Turns out all this money they talked about doesn't go to schools, but the people and government running the lottery.

MI had the same BS with their lottery when it was promoted. It was going to all go to schools.

But then who can trust the govt. In the metro Detroit are a year ago they passed a special millage which was for specifically and only to fund the Detroit Institute of Arts. Which is a great museum downtown. Turns out as reported late last week some of the cities were keeping that money to themselves.
