LAKELAND, Fla. - About 50 cars crashed on a highway blanketed by fog and smoke from a brush fire Wednesday, and authorities said at least three people were killed.

A stretch of nearly 15 miles of Interstate 4 between Tampa and Orlando was closed by several accidents, including the 50-car pileup. Aerial footage showed the soupy mix of fog and smoke covering the landscape for miles and giving the sky an eerie golden color.

I remember in the late 80s I heard of a pile-up in TN with over 200 cars involved. Damn fog.

it's a highway ppl go atleast 70 if the limit is 65. the ones that slow down are the ones that cause the pile ups.

I've been on the highways here in the US. People do easy 20mph over the speed limit. and some do more.

And when it's foggy, or raining, they don't slow down.

Fog is a shocker and a common cause of accidents but alot of people will drive through the fog with their high beam headlights on thinking they can see better, which is sooo not the case it makes things way worse.
