Astral Projection

I was just reading the lucid dream post, and got me to wondering if anyon has expeirenced or belive in astral projection or better known as out of body expeirence? I never have, I've came close but cant over come the fear factor myself. Just wondering everyone elses thoughts.
 
Astral Progection.. been there, Its hard to od, The mind has to be at a very Very serene state, I have a hard time slowing my down long enough to allow myself to release. Only actually been able to do it once.

Its very real and there have been many medical studies on the phenomenon of it.
 
This is is ture silent, ive read so much about it, and i can get my body in the state neded to lift up, but then I get this sudden rush of fear over me, and seem to snap back into my body, its annoying, to be that close and not experience it you know!

Serene?? hmm I'm not sure if I would call it that. I've had an astral projection experience once. I was definitely not serene or at peace. Another night terror actually. It's possible that it wasn't really astral projection...but I did see myself, and I could see everything around me...I was dreaming wwith my eyes open. Really really scary shit. I have another theory that I wasn't really alive at the time...that I had died for a minute and it was my spirit coming out of my body, but something brought me back. Wehn you have so many substances in you anything is possible I guess?

That's not astral projection. Astral projection is done purposely. It's a state of self-hypnosis, one where you can 'place' yourself elsewhere and it takes a lot of both concentration and 'letting go'-one small inhibitance and it's no good.
Although it's been called an energy manipulation, it is probably more imagination from the subconscious than anything. I've done it more than once, trying to place myself with another-it 'appeared' to work and I came out of it quite serene and with closure.
Energy manipulation is also something I've tried and that too seemed to work and when another tried it with me, I 'knew' what actions were being done. There's some good sites/forums on the practice and how to do it. One, The Vampire Codes, takes you through the steps about how to project and how to do energy manipulation.
