Good shot on that lesser scaup. Very distinct details on the feather and color are amazingly captured :thumbup

It gives me the chills though for some odd reason----it seems scary looking to me Scared.gif

That bird isn't scary. If it were a toy the kids would love it. It's very fluffy looking.

So that's what they are doing when they do that (2nd picture). I have a pic like that and wondered what it was all about. Plus another pic with the bird seemingly looking straight up and sometimes (I think, from memory) making a noise - keeping its head up all the time.

I guess @ initial glance - the contrast of that yellow-colored eye ( juz staring at you) over that dark black makes it appear scary looking :D ( that's juz me of course :24: )

You're right it's so fluffy looking. It must have soft feathers :nod:

Not all but most birds sleep with their head tucked into their wing. If you watch them long enough you'll see them pop an eye open, have a look around and close it again when they feel safe.
