Serious topic I know, I may say boobies at the end just to lighten it up....

What's your opinion on assisted suicide, particularly when it would involve (for example) a close member of your family?

Are you of the opinion that this would be wholly ungodly or maybe there is another reason why you are anti this matter?

Tell us

I am wholly pro assisted suicide, however I am sure there are other's that may be able to tell me the opposite view.....

I believe that if someone is dying of a painful disease that will never be cured, and would prefer to leave this world with there family remembering them for how they where...and not to become, then im for 100% difficult and painful though it might be.

If an animal is suffering it is "put down" because it is inhumane to allow it to live.....why dont we have that right??

I'm pro euthenasia.

I'd like to think if I had nothing left to offer those around me, and I was suffering profusely, somebody would help me.

I'm all for it myself. Lets say I get burned reaaally bad. Not only will I be in horrible pain, but I'll also be mutilated. I would like to have a choice to be put out of my missery.

I think you should have the choice. I personally wouldn't do it cuz I believe that God doesn't smile kindly on suicide but I don't think that I have the right to make that choice for everyone.

I think it would be okay if the person really wanted it, like had a dnr or a living will or something.............However, I don't think I could bring myself to actually do it, I do believe in miracles.

I agree with you, but I take my opinion a little further and believe that anyone has the choice to end there life when ever they want to. However, I don't care how painful my condition may be or if I have no chance to survive, I want to hold on to my life as long as I can.

Could also aid in other areas too of course.

If you live in a country with publicly funded health care, or with pension problems...

In total support of assisted suicide, and think Kevorkian was right and the people who sentenced him to prison were 100% wrong. Furthermore, I'm in support of loved ones being allowed to be present without also being thrown into prison. I see where there can be abuse on this, and that's a big reason legalizing assisted suicide is being fought, but it sure screws over the people who want it, and their loved ones.

Consider that without a lot of medical intervention, many of us would already be dead. Survival and fighting for it is nearly always the default choice simply by the act of getting medical attention in order to survive long enough to fight. Others have been in the fight long enough to know that medical intervention is only slowing the inevitable, and no medicine is going to cause a far greater amount of pain, so it's a no-win situation.

Bottom line is that it needs to be the individual's choice, and in case the individual cannot choose, hopefully someone will make the right choice for him or her.

Sure, i understand that but the individuals choice is something they think of for themselves, i mean hell i dont want to be kept alive if im a vegetable or anything but if its something that can be recovered from why would you even think about hurting those who loved you?

I do understand what you mean... but I think it should still be that person's choice.

How would you feel about it in this example: An elderly couple are set to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary. Two months before it, the old lady dies. The old man becomes ill, although his condition is 'treatable', he would prefer to be left to die. Yes, they have children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren who would be sad to see him die too... but he simply can not contemplate living out the rest of his days with out his companion, who had been by his side for 60 years.

Should he be allowed to end his life?

9 times out of 10 that man will end up dying from a broken heart considering his age or even survive the said illness that caused him to be in this situation in the first place.

Im talking young people..... i dont think im getting my point across cause ive had a few to drink i should come back when i can explain it more lol

Id say there should be a line between preventing death and allowing death.

Such as if someone is in pain, rather than attempt to cure them, just make their passing easier. however, this in no way means "kill" him. I am against anyone taking their own life, because I believe life is sacred, even to the end. Im sure it seems narrowminded/stupid to most people, but its something that I will never help/do/let someone I care about do. If other people do it though, that is there own concern, and I would not interfere.

I would agree with a very strict allowance.
If they could prove that there is absolutely no good aspects to their quality of life, i guess if pain for instance engulfed all other feelings or actions, it should be allowed

All part of letting people die in dignity if they so wished
