Assisted reproduction and pro-lifers

This is something I was thinking the other day and I thought it would be a good debate topic. Well, as I think you all know, I am doing my internship in an assisted reproduction clinic (one of the best in Spain, btw).
I have heard before some pro-lifers being against the pill because they believe it to be abortive and because they believe life starts at conception. I was wondering what do pro-lifers think about assisted reproduction methods which are, in the end, creating embrios that may never be even used or will be discarded, and some that will be used will never become a baby.

I am pro-life, and I would also not use assisted reproduction for myself.

The aspect you mention of creating embryos that are doomed to die is one of the reasons. The other is that my hubby and I don't feel it is right to "force the hand of nature".

We do have a tough time conceiving, it took us over 3 years to conceive our first, and we have been trying for 2 and a half years again.... but we will not consider AR.

These are very deep ethical questions. I had never heard of it before. Does your clinic have an ethics report you could share with us by chance?
No, actually when I spoke to my partners (psychologists) they told me they never thought about that before I mentioned it. I guess the thought that reproduction begins at conception is not so extended ?
