I would like to remodel my bathroom on my own...rather, I shouldn't say remodel as it's going to be more cosmetic than anything. I'd like to put in a shower and tub surround...I found some very reasonable shower surrounds, but my tub is an odd shape/size and might be costly to get a surround for it. SO, would you recommend I attempt to reglaze it? I know the process is arduous and you need very good ventilation...or should I just drop the coin and have one made?

The mic is 18 inches wide, 11 inches tall, 12.5 inches deep.

The space is 33 inches across, 15 inches from bottom of overhead cabinets to bottom of regular cabinets and 12 inches deep.

Well I would find a Microwave that fits in that space because it will come with a template and will be really easy to install. You can however easily install the one you have simply by running a few pieces of strong (hardwood) 2x2s spanning accross the space from each cabinet and then making two "false" fronts out of plywood or laminate (or nicer wood if you want to spend the extra mone) to cover the space on the sides of the microwave. Depending on weight, you should also use supports coming down from the cabinet above on the sides.

Thing is they have somer REALLY great MW now that are convection ovens as well--we have one that broils for example--they are a bit expensive but well worth it for all the things they do--it senses when food it hot enough, etc.--really much more than just a basic MW. And you can find one that fits in that spot that comes with the a piece that you mount to the wall behind and screws in from the bottom of the cabinet above--very easy to install.

BTW--my wife, who is an architectural designer, so she does this shit all the time says to get a GE Profile Spacemaker because its only 12 inches deep and has a "trim" kit for the sides.

Before you get all beside yourself, know that this is not your typical ask a member thread.

I want to create a thread for anyone who needs help with anything to do with your home or apartment. If you have any how to questions, this is the place to ask. I have been in the business for 23 years and I thought I would share the knowledge.

If you want to know how to replace a window, unclog a drain, remodel a kitchen or even how to intelligently talk to professionals who you hire... It doesn't matter, post up your question.

I do ask that you keep the thread clean of chat for those who do have questions...

Tim;

I'm looking to purchase a pressure washer, with the main intent being to clean the vinyl siding on my house. I've narrowed my choice down to a gas powered washer. Do you have any particular pressure washer that you find to be the best?

Thanks Mr. Tool-Time. :)

For light housework any brand will suit your needs. You can even buy an inexpensive electric unit for around $100. But if you plan on using it more often or for bigger chores like cleaning a very worn/dirty deck then it's worth getting a gas powered unit with at least 2200 psi
I don't know if you have any Harbor Freights around you, but you could pick up a cheap unit there that would handle your workload.
