How has having an autistic brother affected your life?

Well, I was very involved in his therapy growing up and now, he is the number one reason that I get homesick for Oregon because I really feel a deep connection to him, like he is more my son than my brother. Being that I am the oldest, I was given a lot of the responsibility of helping raise him and my other siblings growing up.

I know this isnt a question.. its a response.. Just from this post right here, you have gained so much respect from me. For you to step up and help out, that is a very mature thing of you to have done. You deserve major props for this. I hope your brother knows how lucky he is to have you as a sister. :) I wish my family would help me out some.. but they dont.

I am sorry that your family doesn't help out. While we are a large family (6 siblings and 1 grandchild on the way) we are very very close, we always help and support each other and Ethan is no exception, in fact he gets the support of everyone. We all took turns making sure he did his exercises and worked his mind, I just particularly got involved, I am very very close with him. He loves playing with me too...

Example, last time I saw him:

He wouldn't let anyone else play with him like that, not even his brother that he is really close to.

And thank you for the compliment, but I don't think it is really deserved, I am just doing my duty as his big sister.

I forgot, plus I owe it to him that I now sing, he and I used to sing together as part of his therapy, he sometimes calls me and sings to me... I miss him and this has just brought tears to my eyes..

Okay Lexi.... I'm back with a handful of questions!

When you were a child what did you want to be when you grew up?
