As I've matured

That you can't make anyone love you, or even like you. They either do or they don't and you'll know it.

That the only one you can always trust is yourself.

That everyone is selfish about something.

That it's not always what you know, but who you know.

That if it smells like shit, it is.

That material things don't make me happy.

That it's okay to be different.

That if you can't afford it, don't buy it.

That your feelings are your own, and no matter how hard you try to explain, no one else will just get it.

That crying really does give temporary relief.

That screaming works just as well.

That silence is often golden.

That following the crowd is usually stupid.

That you can never assume you have someone figured out.

That losing someone you love or care deeply for is the worst feeling in the world.

That loving or caring about someone is the best feeling in the world.

That children are innocent until the world takes it away from them.

That when I'm in the chocolate time-of-the-month, I have to find some.

That I like who I am.
 
There is no greater love than the love you will have for your children.

Being frugal is wise, Clip coupons, look for sales, Have a savings, plan for retirement.

Own your house, Never rent! Why line the pocket of some fat cat?
Mortgage payments are less than rent anyway.

That I can not change people, I can only change the way I will deal with them.

Sometimes it's best to keep your big yapper shut.

Small dogs aren't very practical and are most likely to nip the neighbor kids.

Some neighbor kids just need nipping.

Make sure your home owners insurance covers nipped neighbor kids.

I've learned not to compare myself to others - they are more screwed up than I had thought. :p No, but seriously everyone's soul has their own lessons to learn.

I've learned it isn't what you wear, but how you take it off. ;)

I've learned not to sweat the small stuff and that most of it is all small stuff. :)

I've learned that until I become a celebrity that I must be accountable for my actions. :tongue:

I've learned that no matter how many kids you have, you will always have one more added to the mix. His name is 'I don't know'. :unsure:

I've learned that the heart and soul of a person and relationships and love are the only things that make this life worth living. Everything else is just 'stuff'. :smiley31:

I've learned that loving someone is a choice that takes work. It isn't just a 'feeling'.

I've learned that meditation and prayer are powerful.

I've learned that I don't have to beat myself up with guilt for my mistakes and also not to pridefully ignore guilt either. I feel it. I learn from it. I repent, make amends and move on.
