Arkansas couple welcomes 17th child

In no way would I want them to be limited in how many children they can have. It is their right to have as many kids as they want... I just don't think it's responsible to have that many kids. Just because you can, doesn't mean that you should. It's just my personal point of view, that's all.

And over population is not conspiracy theory.

In your opinion it isn't.

Take a look see at this and it will explain my stance more clearly if your interested.

Ok I didn't know you believe in that, but it explains your answer at least. I understand where you are coming from now.

However, I obviously don't agree.

None of us can predict the future. We do not know what tomorrow holds. We can not take into account tragedies, disease, etc that will more than likely happen. All we can do is give guesstamations no matter how reliable we think we are basing our guesstamations on.

I would not suggest anyone not procreate on the basis of the 'over population' theory (conspiracy theory imo). Not every family has 17 kids, so I don't think we need to be concerned about it. Anyways what is anyone going to do about it? Be like other countries that limit people to how many kids they can have, etc.?

what the heck?? Have you seen the outside world lately??

far out! is there no TV reception in Arkansas? sure its enough to populate a small town, but is it likely they will all stay together in the town? im so with graceabounds here, if they can support them, then thats dandy! but seriously, if i was their neighbor....i would have fixed the tv or atleast bought them a board game or something! ha! imagine the racket

Just because you have a college education and can make 70k a year in a career doesn't mean you should. (not the best metaphoric example out there, I know)

I usually agree with you on your points, but this one... I dunno. I'm happy that they can afford and are blessed enough to be able to have the size of a family they choose. I see no problems with having that many children.

In many countries and cultures it is still common for families to be large, just because some have large families of 17 or more doesnt mean anything when it comes to the next generation,For example my father came from a family of 14,there were 9 in my Mom's family, even locally I know of families where there are in excess of 10 children. Its a cultural phenomenon is all.In olden times it was a matter of practicality.Having lots of childern to work your land and such, even there in America I'm sure up until recently it was common for families with land and heavily involved in agriculture to raise large families to help out.
