My preference is for the third and fourth ones with the third being my favourite. I like the warmer feeling from the richer colours in those two. Not to say the others are bad per se - they just don't appeal in the same way ;)

Sunsets like that seem to be less common here in Arizona so I shot some pictures when I could. Most of them tend to be more like this:

Imho, that kind of discernment is part of the 'eye' for a great photo that good photographers have so don't do yourself an injustice as in the first post ;)

I find myself feeling disappointed when a sunset ends like the picture you linked here. It's not a bad sunset but not warm or interesting type as per your first pictures.

I'm near the ocean and a rocky beach currently during my stay in Gibsons and I'm hoping that one of the days and evenings before I go will result in B.C. relenting from it's cloud and rain show to allow me a decent photo attempt. Time will tell.

I need the right combination of sun and clouds to get the best sunset pics. Sunsets with few or no clouds can be awesome as well but I can't get good pictures of them.

Awesome pics! :thumbup

I like number three best.... the dark silhouettes against the molten sky really works.
