Job Details:
With the supervision of the Food Service Director or Manager, performs duties of the and cleaning duties as necessary in the Hospital cafeteria. Is responsible for answering the cafeteria phones.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Maintains the cashier station and operates the cash register in the Hospital cafeteria during meal periods. Rings up established rates for food items, totals cost of meal, receives payment from customer, and returns correct change as necessary. Maintains records of charge meal tickets and Doctor's charges as received as payment for meals. Records number of meals served and payments received using standard forms as required for Director. Determines change needed for meals, rolls change, and turns monies and receipts over to Director.
2. Prepares menu board in cafeteria as required. Maintains the supply of napkins and flatware as required. Notifies supervisor of any problems or unusual conditions.
3. Maintains and restocks the supply of condiments, desserts, and other prepared foods (cookies, chips) ,etc.
4. Maintains work area in clean and orderly condition. Follows town and state health codes established for cleaning and sanitizing. Maintains and assists in cleaning tables, chairs, and condiment station in cafeteria and Doctor's dining room as situation necessitates. Assists cafeteria workers as directed. Performs special projects as required or directed
5. Other duties may be assigned as required to meet the operating needs of the Hospital. Such other duties may be added to or substituted for some of the other duties above, depending on patient census and other factors affecting work load at the time.
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE, AND OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS:
1. Ability to read, write, and perform routine arithmetic calculations.
2. Up to one month of on-the-job training or experience.
