My " inner self " is on a higher alert then it ever was before.
I look at people, even my own race, harder then before.
I still am able to treat people in the manner they treat me but I just listen harder and take a closer look.

Do you believe you can dislike traits in a race without disliking the race in general ?

It's like disliking sprouts but still liking most other greens like lettuce, peas and broccoli.

One is not a racist based on not liking one factor of life..

am i a "closet racist?"..to be honest ,...yes..

i will not let the closets of different room mingle,..it just isnt right.
if Cod meant for there to be a bedroom closet in the hallway.....he would have put one there.

what about when closets from 2 different rooms have children?..they will spend their entire closet life being rejected by every other other type of closet just because they are different...its always roughest on the little closets.

I read once that making judgements based on our very first impression of someone is a survival instinct - if your previous experiences have taught you that mexican people are violent for example, maybe because you were once beaten up by a gang of them, then your brain stores that info against their race in case it helps you avoid a similar situation later.

Obviously it's not so easy on an individual basis - just because a little blond white kid bullied you at school doesn't mean all blond white guys will be arseholes to you. But it does mean if someone has a bad experience, they can't avoid having a certain amount of trepidation towards people who fit the same profile.

Wow....interesting. I've always thought something like that, and wondered if it were true at all. Funny you mention blonde guys, too....something about them gives me the creeps, and has for a long time, and I don't know why....Dolph Lundgren makes my skin crawl, and even Brad Pitt rubs me the wrong way. I don't get it. Most things I am afraid of or have a weird aversion to, I can recall something from earlier years that may be tied to it....but not the blonde guy thing. There IS one thing that could be it, I just don't know though.

Thanks for sharing that.
