Like someone said on page one, the record and film companies have been making millions for decades. And as I'm typing, I'm trying to think of just one case where piracy has fucked over an artist. I mean, if anything I think piracy helps artists by spreading the word to a way larger audience.
Like me, I'm a music junkie. There's no way I'd be able to pay for every album I check out. I work in a hotel ffs. I pay for the ones I love, though. And to be honest pretty much every music lover I know pays as well. We want to support the ones that speak to us. We depend on youtube to find those artists.
IMO the government is making an issue where there isn't one. Probably to try to write a bill that uses anti-piracy as a smoke screen to control the web.... oh wait.
