Streaming dominates music consumption, affecting how artists release albums and how fans engage. Does this democratize access and creativity, or reduce artistic depth and revenue for musicians? How do algorithms shape taste and visibility, and should listeners be concerned about homogenized music experiences?

I am friends with quite a few musicians and what they tell me is when more people stream their music, the more they get paid in revenue

I haven't used any music streaming platform, I always listen to music from my digital library. I think streaming culture is helping indie artists.

Yes, streaming platforms are reshaping music culture. They’ve made access easier and more global, but they also push artists toward singles, algorithms, and constant output. Discovery is wider, yet attention spans are shorter, and commercial success often depends more on playlists than artistry.
