Music and video platforms recommend most of what we watch or hear. Do algorithms help you discover quality content or trap you in repetition? Have recommendations narrowed or expanded your taste? How often do you search manually instead?

Absolutely. Streaming algorithms push content similar to what we’ve already engaged with, subtly reinforcing preferences. Over time, they can limit exposure to diverse styles or new ideas, shaping taste without us noticing, even though it feels like personal choice.

I believe so. When a show gets released and when the show is hyped by the platform and also the users, a lot of people even when they are not interested in the genre end up watching the show, and sometimes even liking the show.
