Are stepparents often singled out?

I'm a stepdad.

I have a soon to be 20-year-old stepdaughter. I've been in her life since she was 12. I also have a 26-year-old stepson. He was around 18ish or so when I came into the picture.

Their dad passed away a few years back.

It seems like there are days for Fathers, Mothers, and even Grandparents. But even if a day exists, no one is really celebrating the stepparents.

What do you all think? Any fellow stepparents here on the forum?

It's a shame that the good stepparents don't get talked about enough. Unfortunately I think society sees stepparents in a negative light because they aren't the biological parent of the children, which that shouldn't matter. What matters is if the child or children have decent parents raising them.

Stepparent to me is always single out irrespective of how the circumstances may be you must definitely find nagetivity on step parents thou it's also depends on your culture and norms
