Festivals once defined music eras, but now lineups feel repetitive. Do festivals still shape music discovery? Which recent festival felt meaningful? Are festivals more about social experience than music now?

I am not sure about other countries, but music festivals are rare sight in my home country. I guess they are losing their cultural signification.

In some ways, yes. While festivals remain popular, commercialization, sponsorships, and social media hype can overshadow local culture and artistic expression. The focus often shifts to trends and entertainment rather than authentic community, creativity, or cultural significance.

Is it just me or festivals now feel like content creation zones? The ones I have witnessed recently, there are phones everywhere just to create content. I remember small campus shows where the vibe was raw. Now, everything seems like a brand deal.
