Seriously, this place is fucking relaxed. The forum I was on for a couple of years was so heavily censored that if you swore it only showed up in red asterisks, and even then it still got deleted and you got a warning. This was a forum for adults.

I'm not sure that's accurate. The mods are given the charge of upholding the rules of the forum. They aren't here to prevent you from speaking your mind, but they are here to make decisions on what content is appropriate for the forum, and what is not. It's not a personal vendetta against you, it's business.

Bullshit. The mods believe in keeping the peace. This is a private forum, if the rules are no drama then that's what you put up with if you want to stay. Don't get down on people for enforcing the rules - no one has to post here, if it's too oppressive for you then don't post, it's not rocket science.

I guess I thought being called Offtopicz would mean pretty much anything goes. Especially, since it's labeled as "a place to come and get OFF". This place is full of contradictions and if members don't recognize that fact, then they're either ok with it or just blind. Porterjack's response is unintelligible, but I wouldn't expect much more than a 3 or 4-word response from someone so classy.

I'm not alone in my questioning. Dana knows what I'm talking about as does anyone else who has posted threads or posts that have been deleted or locked for no other reason than a mod's personal beef. I don't make this shit up. And, yes I have found other forums. Of course, I use them often. They're more specific on the types of info that can be shared, so they're more limited in ways. I like OTz for its freedom, but it seems to lack that very thing.

If a mod is abusing their power and using it for personal reasons, report it :dunno if nothing gets done then maybe the admin team don't think you're worth placating. If you go around making threads about how shit they are, why would they have any interest in keeping you happy?

Lots of people seem to have no problem making threads that stay open and not having their posts deleted. It's not exactly difficult but hey, you did say in the other thread that you think it's fine to come here and screw with people. Don't complain about the mods coming down on you when that's your attitude.
