Kayaking, cycling, and climbing are marketed as experiences. Do you care more about skill-building or enjoyment? Which outdoor activities felt rewarding without being intimidating? How do you decide what’s worth trying?

I think adventure activities are becoming more about experience than skill. I see a lot of people going for high altitude trekking or even rafting when they aren't trained for it.

Yes, for a lot of people. Many adventure activities are now marketed around the experience and the story you can share rather than mastering a skill. That makes them more accessible and enjoyable, but it can also mean people focus less on technique and safety.

I definitely think it's more about experience these days. People love to go out and adventure, and it's not really about mastering a skill. I'm sure there's some people out there who do it to try and get better at different things but it's mostly for the experience now.
