Bought the first season on blu-ray not too long ago, finished all 10 episodes in two nights with my girlfriend.
Holy shit what a great show. Unfortunately I don't have HBO and the new seasons starts April 1!!!

Anyone else watching it??

I watched the 1st season, though I did just buy it on DVD. The second season starts soon. I'm so excited. :D

It is fairly true to the books. In fact, most of the characters' lines are directly from the books.

I haven't seen it but I've heard it's good. The list of shit I need to get in the loop on is astounding.

I've heard the opposite, that its extremely true to the books. HBO does a good job at that from what I'm told

Since I haven't read the books, I can't really say. Imagine that. What I've read on the internet isn't true ;)

I LOVE THIS SHOW!!! I love the books more... but the show is still really good.

It's fairly true to the books, except with a few embellishments... for example, as it's HBO, there is a bit more gratuitous sex than in the books.

There was a certain scene in a brothel that just annoyed me in the show. It was completely unnecessary & added nothing to the story line, and it was quite obvious it was just there to add some girl-on-girl action. I just think it classes down a show a bit when HBO does stuff like that.

It's incredible if you like the subject matter. :)

The first season was dead on with the books. I've read the second book Clash of Kings but stopped there until the second season is over.

For men, it consolidates the greatness of this story, lol. I also liked it when Daenery's brother was in the hot tub with the wench. :D Even in the books there are some descriptive erotic encounters.

Just watched episode 1 of season 2 last night! So happy it's back!!!

I'm glad they decided to use CGI direwolves. It might not look as realistic, but at least it means they can use them more... I thought the wolves were surprisingly absent from season 1, considering how important a role they play in the books.

Game of Thrones is my obession!

Went to a marathon of the first series two weeks a go in a cinema in downtown Vancouver. 10 hours back to back!! I'm still reading through the books but so far it's pretty true to the books. But, as always, the book came first so if you really are a fan of the series, it's well worth picking up the books. You get so much more from the book because HBO simply can't put EVERYTHING into the series or it would be twice as long and not everything descriptive can be shown in a visiual format. Sometimes there's a whole paragraph in the book of something happening, but then it's only covered in the series with one sentance. I understand why, but to pair both the book and the series together is perfect. It's almost like having a behind the scenes or extended version of the series, reading the book, because you get to find out so much more. Even Old Nan's backgroud is talked about!!

The hubby keeps telling my I'm obsessed with it, my heads constantly in the book or I'm online reading articles or looking up merchandise! I honestly love this series to death =)!!
