I got a vasectomy about 18 months ago; I was 29. Just decided I didn't want any kids. Anyone else here snipped?

I guess a lot of men might be interested in the procedure but are scared of having their sack slit open and their vas sliced apart and clamped. Eh, my experience was OK. They gave me a script for some painkillers but I never needed any. There was blood for about 24 hours maybe, which was a little nervewracking (I was like, when will it stop?)

But it doesn't take anything away from your sex drive or sex in general (I think they say that ejaculate volume is decreased by ten percent, which isn't even noticeable). Insurance should cover it, although I didn't have any at the time and didn't want to wait for my new job's insurance to kick in, so I paid about 700 bucks. Actually, I read that in China, due to the overpopulation problem, it's free for everyone and they even give out prizes to further entice men to have the procedure performed.

I don't know if it varies from state to state or from doctor to doctor, but oftentimes there's an age requirement, and also sometimes they won't do it if you don't have any children (I don't, but I've dated enough single moms to know what the kid experience is all about). Also, if you're married, your wife has to sign a form of consent.

lol, when I told my mom she said, "oh, yeah, your father had one after your sister was born, and your stepfather had one also".

It just dosen't feel very natural and to be honest, the way things are going, I can't ever see there being a need. I'm more concerned about NOT having kids right now!;)

um, I'm confused. What doesn't feel natural? And NOT having kids is the whole point of the vasectomy procedure. Or are you talking about something else?

Not being able to shoot my load!

And I'm talking about, I'd love to have kids but because of certain problems the wife has, it dosen't look very likely.;)

you still ejaculate and it looks the same. It still feels good, etc. The volume is decreaed by roughly ten percent which is not noticeable at all. But trust me, the climax and ejaculation are exactly the same as before the surgery.;)
