For me it depends on the situation, but I'm usually not bothered by my buddies having one or two clubs above 14. I'm a middle-of-the-range golfer, and I like to play mostly for fun and am not seriously concerned w/ the score, etc.
Bottom line: I'll only say anything if we're playing in a tournament/organized game of some type. If we're just out there for a fun round of golf on the weekend, then no big deal.
How much usage do you get out of your 7 wood? I've never even seen, let alone used one before.
I joke about the 14 club rule but never have made others stick to that even though I do myself.
I could have used another putter yesterday. Shot an 81 with 6 count em 6 three putt greens. I was so friggin steamed as only 1 really was all that tough and a couple were legitimate birdie attempts. This is how I used to play 25 years ago. Greens and fairways in regulation and then suck putting. I hit all but 5 greens in regulation (including 3 or the par 3's) and never got an up and down.
1 main driver
3 driver
a putter

thats whats in my wilsons bag...and no i don't play...the bag and clubs were given to me...but i do own half a course. Ranked as one of Canada's top 20 courses...lmao...but i ahve no idea what 14th rule is. I do know, the grass should be green and the bar should be full. lmao

In my early 40's I finally got my putter to work. I never was nor will be good at the very long putts. I put by feel and it rarely is consistent. What I dramatically improved on is the putts under 5'. I rarely miss them. Well until this year. I have normally a decent short game. On Thursday though I had a poached egg in one trap and a rediculous lie in another trap. Cost me a couple of strokes there alone.Sounds about like me... I'm finally straightening out my drives, can hit greens and fairways in regulation without too much of an issue. But my short game from chipping down to putting really really really needs work. If I can approach a green from over 25yds out, I'm fine and can usually put it on the green, but if I'm under 25yds, all hell breaks loose.
The most frustrating part of my golfing last weekend was getting stuck in a trap right at the lip, and I don't have a lob wedge... ended up finally getting it out in 4 shots, and then was so frustrated that I 5 putted for a 10... on a par 3... a par 3 that I've come close to hitting a hole in one at least twice previously... a par 3 that I usually birdie. Yeah, it was bad. I settled down after that though and drove fairways and greens the rest of the way.
