If I've said it once, I've said it ... well I've said it. The goal right now is to pass something, anything, that can be called a healthcare bill. As long as they can get the nose under the tent .........

And it's going to work, too. The debate has shifted from "should we?" to "how much is acceptable to the most people?"

Socialists win another round.

I take issue with your alignment of Socialism to this legislation. A Socialist would never accept this legislation in its current form.

At the very least you could call this political opportunism, passing anything, regardless of value in order to drum it up as actual reform. I don't think the Democrats will succeed in that regard. Obama has already said that Congress will not attempt to rush health care legislation before Senator-elect Brown takes his seat.

Regardless of one's personal opinion about Obama, we should probably all accept that this is a huge blow for his agenda.

So what's the current proposition? I hear they've axed the universal healthcare idea?

Didn't you see his lips moving? HE'S LYING!! The proposition is the same as it always has been. Universal healthcare is the wrapping paper they covered their agenda in until it was no longer expedient. The goal is obvious to anyone who will look at the whole picture with open eyes and an open mind: complete destruction of our system of individual freedom. Complete dependence of the citizenry on the government.

You know I have to say I had such high hopes for Obama. All he seems to be doing at the moment is upsetting both sides...
