The Supreme Court just passed a law saying our City Government, State Government, or Federal Government can take anyones property(house, business, etc) and say they want to put a bigger corporation to pull more tax dollars. And no citizen can do anything about it. This is a huge concern to me and others in my area as we our on the beach and dont want the city council to take my property to make more tax revenue.
This pisses me off that the supreme court thinks it has the authority to make up laws or expand a law because they thinkits just. What in the World our we doing letting these individuals run our lives. The first big Red flag was when they made Dubbya prsident. They had no authority to make this call. It should have gone to a recount or another vote.
They can say any law is unconstituitional if it dosent fit in with there scheme. I think there is an attempt here to take control of this country by the courts.

I just saw on the news yesterday that the city (can't remember where, I think Boston) forced an entire neighborhood to sell even though the nieghborhood voted against it. They had to take the price that was offered to them and had no choice.

i dont know about all that. it has taken over 200 yrs and a lot of technological advancements to create a gov't and nation as powerful and influential as ours. a revolt would end in chaos, violence, disorder, and insecurity among many if not all of our citizens and residents.

It's easy enough to change local politics and politicians. Even regional ones too. We vote them in we can vote them out. What it really all boils down too is a few Judges appointed for life that have gotten the idea that they can change the bill of rights by reinterperting the law and ruling it unconstituitional. I think there is a conspiracy in the judicial system to silently take over the govt. Basiclly make the govt. into a hosuse of lords. All laws of the land will be subject to the will of a few.

with the best lawyer and appeals our gov't is pretty much that way. the only thing is, now some of the laws are favoring the gov't, not the people and it is b/c people dont think enough about who they vote for and that candidate's real political agenda. the vast majority of our nation is politically incompetent and just jump on the bandwagon to feel that they made a difference for the winning team- that gives the incompetent their high.

Your right. The vast majority of the american people dont vote, and when they do vote it's usually for the most popular guy/girl. But at the same time its diffucult to know who the best person for the post is. Really, the only people that run for office now are the ones that have there own agenda and dont want to work for the people.
There are a few politicians that really want to make a positive change but they are the minority. Alot of the honest ones turn over because they realize its a battle they can't win by them selves and opt to just ride out a term or two. Thats just my 2 cents. :blah :blah :blah :blah :blah

i agree. when you are the underdog for so long and all of your peers tune you out, override your comments/views- well it gets hard to even get by. you fight an uphill battle, lose faith in your faith, values, and goals... so you quit. it has happened to many great politicians as well as many other people.

just for starters- look at it from an economical viewpoint. communism allows no room for social status whereas democracy praises and laudates the rich and powerful to get the corporate majority on their side to accomplish its own political, ideological, social, economical, ecological, and technological agendas.

what happened in russia? whats happening in n. korea?
they (the "politicans") have their own agenda in those categories

democracy is the political ideal that everyone is created equal... (read: has the same opportunities to make a better life for themselves)

but one small problem: the ones to take advantage early on, create problems for people later trying to take advantage, and:

thats where our democratic government has to step in to make it equal again. (now thats the pure thought, but it will never be like this no matter what)

oh, you can say, well look at the improvments we've made as a democracy...
ill counter by saying look at what we had to lose to get to those "improvements"

for example: our government wants to make life easier for all people... but it takes money to do so, so they make us get out of our homes to make room for corporate venues for tax revenues... but to make us equal, some of the higher status people will have to lose status, and then and only then will the lower-status people be equal... then the government would eventually up the status of all people, making the government look good... but the government was in control the whole time, just like communism...
