We finally put our two oldest cats to sleep. Bingo was between 17 and 18 and Patches was between 16 and 17. In comparison, my little brother is almost 20. Both of the had gotten pretty sick when they were young so it's really surprising to us that they made it this far. The first vet we took them to refused to put Patches down without running some pretty costly tests for hypothyroidism, which could have possibly accounted for one of many (pretty major) problems she had. So we took them to another vet who agreed that she was in a lot of pain and it was best to let her go. The whole family is upset but we all know it was for the best.
Bingo is the black one and Patches is the white and orange one.

Needless to say, it's not been a good week for cats in my family.
