and people say weed isn't addictive...

I've never said anything about the occasion smoke in this thread... i wouldn't smoke but I'm not going to knock some if they do it once in a blue moon. The potheads who need to get high daily or every other day to make themselves feel good is what irritates me. I don't drink everyday either. I drink 2 nights a week hardly overdoing it.

Two nights a week of drinking is overdoing it.

I'm a student, and we aim for two nights a week.

Smoking is irresponsible because it causes your body harm. Alcohol is okay as long as you don't get drunk. I have seen my fair share of drunken people and I am thankful I never ended up like that!

It isn't irresponsible if you're responsible. Are you telling me that eating fast food is okay? Candy? Junk food? Soda? All of those things are LOADS more harmful for your body after a few times versus smoking a joint which isn't harmful for your body. You should see the effects it has on cancer patients that are in so much pain they just want to give up on life. As far as being drunk? It's not a disease so saying something like "I am thankful I never ended up like that" doesn't make sense. Everything in moderation, as has been said before. And you said you've never tried these things? It's possible you feel the way you do because you've never experienced it. Experiencing certain things can make you a lot more open minded to life and the things in it than other wise. It helps you understand why certain people do the things they do. But to say that people are stupid for trying something? That's stupid.

Not possible. You are not in complete control of your body when drunk, which is what makes being drunk irresponsible.

I honestly disagree with this statement. One can be drunk, plan to be drunk and know enough of their limits to put controls in place prior to getting drunk to prevent irresponsibility.

What if the substance leads to irresponsibility?

If the substance leads to irresponsibility, it is because the person using the substance did not have enough responsibility to ensure that irresponsibility did not happen. This argument can be applied well beyond the measure of intoxicating substances out into other avenues as well. The old technology philosophical question would apply: Just because we can, should we? In this instance its a person by person thing.

People are stupid for smoking because it is well documented what it does to you. I cannot stand smokers who get themselves ill and them have the gall to demand treatment for the lung cancer - and that's taxpayer funded medical treatment we are talking about.

People are not stupid for drinking but they are stupid (IMO) for getting drunk because one does not need to be drunk to have a good time. Plus, I am sick of women getting pissed and then claiming they were raped because they couldn't remember consenting to sex with a total stranger. It also makes it easy to have your drink spiked - I know someone who had her drink spiked and yet she continues to get drunk. That person is my sister.

Eating junk food is bad when you become as fat as an elephant. If it's in moderation it is fine. I can't stand people who eat and eat junk and then turn around and blame the fast food companies for serving them.

Irresponsibility also makes people blame everyone else for the problems they created.

I just have very strong views on drinking/smoking/drugs. I mean nothing against you at all, but it's just my opinion that to do such things (without a medical reason) is not a smart thing to do.

Do you not see the irony in your name?

A show that only the completely fucked can find good?

While it is true that one does not need to be drunk to have a good time, it is also true that being drunk can be a good time of it's own. One that when not done all the time, and done with a measure of control, can be an unmeasurably unique experience of enjoyable perception.

How is it responsible to plan to be drunk, though? To me, it seems silly to say that one can plan to be a responsible idiot - because often, that is what being drunk turns you into.

So the more times you get drunk, the better you get at it? Great, why can't people be allowed to drink and drive? Their experience should make them more responsible at it, shouldn't it?

There's no real point in arguing this with you. You're predisposed to believe that drinking inherently makes you irresponsible, and will consider no other line of thinking.

:clap:sarcasm great comeback there;)

Ughhhh.... Ignorant people piss me off. She's obviously not budging on her lack of experience in the matter, so I'm gonna quit while I'm ahead.

I dont agree with her views either, but I have to laugh at all you 20 y.o's with all this "worldly experience" :24:
