My hair's too dark to dye that color without it looking kinda like it did when I last dyed it.

Yeah I very dark brown hair. It's almost black.

I used to dye it red quite a lot, though I never managed to get it to be the colour of the woman's hair in the picture Retro posted.

Haha, I've been blonde before. It was actually blonde and red. But the company I worked for was all "You can't have your hair two different colors!" So I dyed it all red. It was more of a purple though. Even on top of the blonde.

Then again, the red color was called "Black cherry", so I shouldn't have been surprised.

One of my friends goes to the hair dresser every month and has to spend £125 (apparantly this is approx $197.83) to get her dark hair professionally dyed a really vivid red colour.

It looks fantastic but I just think it is too much. Have you thought of maybe using peroxide and then dying it? It might work then.
