I have not made a cherry pie from scratch so to speak!
I usually buy the cherry pie filling and place it in a homemade pie crust!
Cheating I know.... but it is what it is!

My apple pies are to die for! Well, no one will die, but they are heavenly!
Mine are made with fresh local grown apples and lots of secret ingredients and gently placed in my homemade pie crust! Topped with a crumbled mixture of flour/butter/brown sugar!
I am going to cut a piece right now!
