Oh, I think he is just a fantastic songwriter, his words are genius, poetic in fact... with just an acoustic guitar I have never seen anyone better, 'cept Nick Drake and Dylan

Are you being serious? My sarcasm detector is on the blink again :)

My point is I guess that Nick Drake was overlooked in the 70's because there were akready too many great singer songwriters, but Pete Doherty is the best of today.... Apparantly. Now that is depressing.

To even think of Doherty in the same thought as someone like Nick Drake, Tim Buckley, Cohen, Townes Van Zandt is an insult to their memories.
And to mention his name akin to Dylan must be some sort of cardinal sin, Bob Dylan is still producing fantastic music to this date.

Nah, I don't think they would insulted at all, I think they'd see his music for what it is, a finger on social pulse... You might not like it, you might not like him (my god, who could) but he makes it easy to relate to modern day, well I get that from his songs in any rate...
