So all this worry for nothing?

Not really, the other girl had previously said no to staying at hers cos she lives so much further out than I do and agreed that the drama wasn't worth having them in the house. So I guess she changed her mind which has it work out the better for me.

I know this is resolved - but I definitely echo what Jezz said about not seeming wishy-washy on how you feel and being upfront about the "no" answer.

I have some otherwise fabulous friends who drive me NUTS with their flakiness - if you don't want to do something, just say so from the get-go. I can't tell you how many times I've planned events for groups of people where a couple people just bailed last minute with excuses that made it pretty obvious that they were never planning on going. Or that said yes to vacation plans, then bailed last minute and left me with a half-empty vacation house.

(LOL sorry btw that rant totally sidetracked from this thread, and was not intended for you - just a bit of a rant that made me feel a bit better to get off my chest)

I'm not flaky, on the basis that friends who do that drive me demented. I never said or suggested they could stay, they assumed. I could tell from the way they did not ask about accommodation.

I dont mind at all, least it's on topic. I have a tendency to derail way off topic haha

i ALWAYS GET CALLED CHEAP
When I go places with other people
as they spend every dime they have with nothing to show
I would rather every make the non meaningful part of the trip dirt cheap
so you can buy things you really want

I went to a ski trip with my X and people from our work
they all wanted to get rooms at some super expensive hotel just to stay for about 4 hours for everyone to get sleep (JUST FOR SLEEP!!) I had to fork out 175 dollars for 4 hours of sleep I said why don't we all just go to a cheapy for the night why was money they looked at my X and then she looked at me and said im cheap

gee wonder why we are not together anymore

No I know! That's why I added my last sentence - I realized I had gone off on a rant and didn't want you to think I was trying to imply that you were flaky, haha.
