Aliens would we kill them at first sight ?

I was thinking about what Stephen Hawkin said about Aliens possibly being hostile if they landed on Earth ?

Do you believe we humans would be barbaric as in many of the Hollywood movies and just kill aliens ( watch out Allen ) when they would first arrive or would we try to learn and understand ?

Are we that uncivilized that we would not even try to analyze what is before us before we kill it ?

Even scientists are telling us to kill kill kill.. Is that appropriate under these circumstances ?

Do you even believe in Aliens ?

It depends on who finds them first. The Japanese would instantly put them on national television then find out why they're here. If the US military could keep it secret they'd kill the first one & dissect it. I don't know what the Europeans would do.

If they weren't terribly menacing acting and didn't have weapons, I'd like to think we'd 'try' to communicate peacefully. We shouldn't have the 'shoot now - ask questions later' mentality anyway. I mean.... the second things looked bad.... then we'd have to do whatever it takes to protect ourselves.

Gosh, but why couldn't we, with caution, determine what they want and go from there? I would hope if we landed on another planet that would happen. Yes, I do believe other planets have life forms.

Yet I can't help to wonder why someone would consider even attempting to make contact if their intentions were to blast us anyway..

Seems pointless if you could do it from space ?

Hard to say, depends on the circumstances. Any logical thinker would know that if they are here, their technology is more advanced than ours and it might be wise to discover their intentions before attacking rashly. However I could easily see someone shooting first.
