In most dry counties it is not illegal to consume alcohol, just not buy in there. Buying it in restaurants is just a way to get around the law IMO.

I said no. I figure if the county is dry then the citizens in that county voted it that way. The law should be respected.
Not all the time. Often, countries put laws into place that the citizens have nothing to do with. You should always quesiton laws and authority.

Sorry, I'm not really up on your laws. So what exactly is a dry county then?

It just means that alcohol is not sold in dry counties. (but you can get alcohol in the next county over) The govt isn't making money off of selling a product that can cause addiction and other harm to it's citizens in a dry county. Selling it in a glass in a restaurant is just a way for people to get around the law IMO. (in a bottle from a store)

Well I still stick by my original decision then. Imo, its fucked up when a county won't allow alcohol to be sold but will sell guns and bullets!:confused

So it is ok for people to get drunk, be irrational, get behind the wheel of a car and kill people because they are out of their mind, but it is not ok for me, a rational person, to own a gun and bullets, that are killing no one?

That does not make any sense to me.

I'm not saying you think it is ok. I'm asking a logical question. (it is all in discussion's sake - I'm not trying to get you all riled up) :)

Your question isn't logical because it untruthully assumes that everyone who drinks is going to drink drive and everyone who buys a gun is going to be a good citizen and not shoot people with it. Its completely irrational and unlogical!

Well then your statement isn't logical because it implies that something bad is going to happen if a county sells guns and bullets but doesn't sell alcohol.
So !

:D

So would you care to show me the proof that nothing bad happens when you sell people guns?
I'm not saying nothing bad will happen if you sell alcohol but I really can't understand how you can think selling people guns is safer than selling them alcohol. Your argument was extremely flawed and biased because you were comparing the worst case scenario with alcohol to the best case scenario with guns. I also found it extremely insulting that you implied that I don't have a problem with drink driving because I don't have a problem with someone having a glass of wine with their meal when they eat out!
