I find it ridiculous that 50/60/70 year olds are getting carded for booze. There isnt enough plastic surgery in the world to make them look under 21
its not an inconvience for me to show my ID if I go to a bar if they do card me cause I could realalisically(sp) be under 21 for all they know

I've gotten sent home from work for wearing a too short skirt, I don't think I will risk it....besides I'm wearing a dress so the whole thing would have to come off....

I have I.D. (and it is a legal I.D becuase it has the shiney offical mark in the corner) but becuase all pubs in Wycombe only take driving liscences or passports (I have neither), I can't go into any pubs but can nip round to Tescos and buy a litre of vodka, becuase they accept my I.D.
They do take the whole I.D. thing too far. My mum got asked for I.D. when buying knitting needles from a haberdashery becuase she needed to be over 18. She asked why and they explained that if she was under the age of 18 she might go and stab people.

*Edit* Oh, I see the've stopped doing them but there are other schemes it links you to which are just as good.

I live in a town where everyone drives so we all always have ID - it's not an issue.

I would but the pubs are very insistant that it HAS to be a driving liscence or passport and they won't accept anything else. That's what frustrates me as I have neither and I'm not forking out all the money when I'm not going abroad and not learning how to drive.
I now just go to the pub during the week. So much easier and no one asks for I.D.
We don't have to carry our driving license around with us here and yes, there is a drinking age limit in England, it's 5 years old.:nod:

Yes. They do it all the time and when you ask why and point out that it is proper I.D. card, they say that they can only accept driving liscences and passports. Nothing else is acceptable becuase it is too easy to forge them.
