You know watching the news there saying with all the technology and medical break throughs 60 is becoming the new 40. I dont quite belive it yet but hey im only 24. But if its a family that you want I say go for it no matter the age. You need to be happy and do what you want, old cliche *age is but a number* your attitude and determanation is what makes you, if that makes any since what so ever?

IMO I really don't think it matters for the guys about when they want to have kids in life. It does however matter for the women. My friends mom had her 4th child at 40 and is now having her 5th at 42. It's just a jaw dropper for my family and I. There weren't any conversations about the father but just the mother who is crazy that she would want more kids at that age. There are so many things she has to worry about.

A little thing to add here, when she was trying for her 4th child she had 10 miscarriages before hand while trying. And with her 5th child that's about to come, the only reason she is having that one so the other one won't be lonely. Her 3 other children are on their way out of the house eventually.

I just can't imagine myself doing that...

Well, I think the majority are all for it anyway.

I personally couldn't, but there's no way I wld say it shouldn't be done by others. Only those in the situation have a right to decide that I think.

Parenthood is and always has been a personal choice.

I know that at my age, I couldn't have anymore. My partner has no children though, so I did say that if he was really keen to be a dad, I would consider having a baby with him. I told him I wld have to think hard about it though.

He is very sure though, that he doesn't want children of his own as he feels he's too old - he is two and a half yrs older than me.

Anyone wanting to, then go for it!:)

My first instinct was to say Most definately not!! My father was 53 when he died... imagine he waited til 50 to have kids?
So, my argument would have been that people over 50 should not have kids because they may die before the child grows up.

BUT... after thinking about it, I think my logic is somewhat flawed... I am 28, I may be hit by a bus. There are no guarentees in life, no matter what your age.
