Age Refrencing And Whatnot

Not to turn this into another lifestyle debate, but why does it matter if I'm goth, or punk, or redneck, or some bigheaded green alien from mars. If I choose to dress this way, it should not affect how people treat me. Hell, if anything, I seem to get more respect around school when I dress this way than I do when I just wear normal clothes. And I like these clothes. The chains and ropes and necklaces might look retarded or uncomfortable, but I feel comfortable like this, and I feel out of place when I don't dress like this.

People shouldnt judge you by the way you dress. The way someone dresses has nothing to do with whats on the inside. People have different tastes in all kinds of things from clothes, to music, to cars, etc. Its what makes YOU feel comfortable is all that matters.

Well obviously we all know who's the smartest, and not to mention the cutest, one here and that would be Sim. So just listen to her and to no one else.

But seriously Ron, just wait a little while until you completely forget about these things - such insignificant little things that have no importance whatsoever, and start thinking a little bit about the mere future.

My brother used to be a goth... up until he figured out how stupid it made him look. He also used to smoke, get wasted all the time (and not to mention put himself in danger like attempting to drive drunk) and basically do as many irresponsible things as possible. Well one day, you simply figure out how stupid it all is. It just isn't worth it. He was also setting an example for me and he obviously figured that out by himself. Well, look at him now: he's a computer progammer that has only about year left to graduate, and he's already working for a company AND working on his very first video game. Had it not been for his decision to stop wasting his life on doing constant misdemeanors, he'd probably still be in the same loop right now.

Again, this may sound like a cliche that pisses teenagers off all the time, but wait and grow up a little. You'll see.

That's how it ended up about clothing.

Not really. Wasn't Sim talking about the goth thing, and he said to listen to her, then he filled us in with a life story?

Let me give you guys an example of when I was in college about something that happened to me and it was a rude awakening and I will never forget it and since then I try not to judge a book by its cover.

When I was in college, I was working a part time job in a name brand childrens clothing store. One day this raggedy older man with a beard that looked like it hadnt been cut in ages and dressed in filthy clothes came in. Well, obviously I kept an eye on him thinking the whole time that he doesnt have the money to buy any of these clothes. Well, I was wrong. He bought over $1,000 worth of clothes for his kids! I couldnt believe what I was seeing and since then, I realized, you cant judge a book by its cover.

Why not just say what you're trying to say instead of being a complete dumbass and shooting off hints to it. I guess you're not a real man if I have to remind of you rule #6-

6. Ask for/say what you want. Subtle hints do not work! Strong hints do not work! Obvious hints do not work! Just say it!

I never judge by appearance, but some people just look God-awful and sometimes you just can't understand why anyone would represent themselves like that.
Because they want to show everybody else how easily they can be fooled by somebody that looks cheap.
