I'm single and some times im just assed to make anything and packaged shit is easier. I buy chicken thighs, minute rice. i eat a lot of minute rice.

As much as you're against things like Splenda I would think you wouldn't touch packaged food. Have you read the ingredients??? It's mostly frankenfood!!! Not to mention sodium is through the roof!!!

Regular rice is cheaper. I buy whatever is cheapest. Wound up with sticky rice once. That was fun!

Because the sticky rice was cheaper??? If you ever want sticky rice just rinse your regular rice first. It removes a lot of the starch and VIOLA, sticky rice.

We must just get fucked in Georgia on the price of wings b/c they are way more expensive than every other kind of chicken you can buy. *shrugs* Seriously...like 5 pounds for $17 or something like that. And that's at Sams!!!

I would imagine a whole chicken would be cheaper, Kim.

i eat soup when i am low on money (and when i'm not)

good soup is like 90p a can, couple of slices of bread probably brings the total up to a £1

You are talking about wing tips and drum-lets for buffalo wings. Yeah, they are real expensive here as well. I'm talking about the packaged wings where the tips and drum-lets are still attached, the type you wouldn't make buffalo wings out of.

Like I said to her, you need to look at the price per pound on the different ways chicken is packaged and try to factor in how much is going to be waste... but you're right, a whole chicken sometimes is the better deal.

One of my fave cheapy meals is home made spring rolls.

A bag of coleslaw (the shreadded cabbage) a hand full of frozen peas, salt and pepper to taste.. and a package of phylo dough.. .

Throw the shredded cabbage in a frying pan with a little veggie oil and make it wilt down.. when it's nice and soft throw in peas, salt and pepper....

Spread out two layers of phylo dough on top of each other and put an inch wide row of cabbage down close to one end.. roll up cut in to three pieces and continue till you have used up all your filling..

Then brush a little Olive oil on them and bake till golden brown.... serve with some plum sauce....

If you want you can also add some small cut up pieces of chicken.

from meat chicken and mince will be cheaper (but not chicken breast) and you can do a lot of different meals with this

then stuff like pasta, rice, potatoes, beans, ..and few more i can not remember now are cheap and many meals you can make
sometimes some veggies go on sale cheap as they will go off and they have to sell fast buy this .. but you need to cook them in a day or 2 great way to get cheap veggies
just don't get in bulk :D

a bean soup

or a salad with beans and add some chicken

or can make some schnitzel with the chicken no need the breast take the legs with the bones cost cheaper remove the bone yourself and it is even more softer and cheaper
make a nice salad to go with

ok just few things most been mention here already anyway

I've only eaten like $2.50 worth of food today. It feels good, actually!

I spent less than $100 bucks and have weeks worth of food. Yay!!! Y'all rock!
