I'm just watching the news and they're talking about what the average pro sports player
makes...........and it really pisses me off..........benchwarmers are making millions

There should be a cap on all pro salaries. No doubt about it.

Soldiers get paid shat. Teachers too. As well as firefighters and police.

There really needs to be a cap on ALL pro sport salaries.

I agree. They need to get paid more. Its not right that our police and fire risk their life right here in the states and dont get paid NOWHERE close to what they get paid. Teacher deal with so much and dont get paid squat either.. :(

They're paid from the income of the pro team... Soldiers are paid by the US government.

Talk to the US government about spending millions on research of stupid shit, like what toilet seat makes the least amount of noise after 50,000 lifts.

People complain about how much fire, police and teachers make. But on the flip side if your taxes get raised to give them a pay raise... you'd complain.

Flip your coin, higher taxes or decent incomes for the city services personnel.

Sculpin... do you do as quite a few of the pro football players do? Help out with building houses for underprivilaged/poverty stricken families? Donate to charities, etc?

I'm completely sober. Just wondering why you're complaining, yet you're not lobbying your local government to raise your taxes to give fire fighters, police and teachers more money?

They wouldn't have to raise taxes. They would only need to stop waisting the money they already get. This war in Iraq is costing the American tax payers $11,000,000.00 every hour of every day. That means for every 18 months we are over there we could have given every American soldier in Iraq $1,000,000.00 cash.

Hadn't gotten around to pointing that part out too.

My point is that congress wastes billions of dollars every year. Money that can be spent on better uses.

On the flip side, athletes get paid millions because we are willing to spend that much to watch them. That's just a matter of economics. It might not be right, but we support it by spending the money.

I'm pretty sure there is some sort of cap on a team by team basis.

But on the flip side, why should a pro player get his possibilities capped because the US population would rather watch him run a football down a field over paying their teachers more money?
