Yep. I have a hat rack by my front door. As soon as I walk in, I hang my sunglasses, keys, and hat from the hat rack. Then I make a B line across the kitchen to a basket I have. I empty my pockets into that basket each day (keys, wallet, knife, pills, change, etc.) and then I go to my chair and put my cell on the arm.

OMG my car would be broke into if I left such valuables in it... ya life in the hood doncha know.
Mine's been broken in to and nothing in it to take.. so they took my gloves.. LOL

Yup... it is.. but then again.. it's where I live.. LOL
But you live in the frozen North so at least gloves made sense. I had a window broken out of my truck and other damage. They took less than $3 in change.

LOL Fred.. if only it were winter when they did it.. I keep a pair in the car all the time.. they broke in in May.. when well gloves aren't needed...
They have broken in my MIL's Bf's van 3 times now .. the first time they got nothing.. the second time they got his GPS...
I thought it could snow there any day of the year?
