So in other words, you can't refute how blantently WRONG you were, so you choose to nitpick on me not having accurate enough footnotes for you.

Thanks. No need to shout though, that's kind of rude.;)

The Bush administration commissioned the Iraq Survey Group to determine whether in fact any WMD existed in Iraq. After a year and half of meticulously combing through the country, the administration’s own inspectors reported
“ "While a small number of old, abandoned chemical munitions have been discovered, ISG judges that Iraq unilaterally destroyed its undeclared chemical weapons stockpile in 1991. There are no credible Indications that Baghdad resumed production of chemical munitions thereafter, a policy ISG attributes to Baghdad’s desire to see sanctions lifted, or rendered ineffectual, or its fear of force against it should WMD be discovered."

That in no way changes the fact that they were NOT in compliance with UN 1441 , and that resolution specifically said member nations could use that authroity to act.

What you are saying is equaivilent to a judge issuing a search warrant, then having the police who serve the warrant arrested for breaking and entering because they didn't find the evidence they were looking for.

It kind of argues that the war was illegal though.

It's hard to declare something "illegal" AFTER the fact, when it was clearly within your definition of "legal" when it started.

I'm curious as to why the UN has never sought to take action against the US if it's so cut and dried that we engaged in an "illegal" war. Wheres the resolutions condemning us or issuing sanctions against us, or demanding we leave Iraq?

Come on! Surely you're not that naive! The USA is far more powerful than the UN and has pretty much said "fuck you! What are you going to do about it?" to the UN, when they went to war with Iraq.
