I think alcohol is a far worse substance and should be labeled a drug as well. I don't see why they aren't as concerned with the long term effects of alcohol. I mean, people murder whole families because they are DUI. People get alcohol poisoning and can drink their lives away as well. So, I just think its really biased. If you want us to be strong working people. Get rid of cigs, alcohol, drugs, fast food, etc.

Prohibition didn't work because it was easy to brew alcohol on your own in large quantities and ship it out. The problem with pot isn't so enormous as that was in the 20s.

I'm ALL for legalizing it, it'll cut down on the state and city costs of arresting and processing people for possessing it, and it'll cut down on taxes because of the pay and gas the city uses out of it's tax treasury to pay for those officers to make those arrests.

Legalize it - tax it - problem solved, for the most part.

Then what you start seeing is people driving while stoned and wrecking their cars the same they would as if they were DUI.

there would be no way to regulate it if it was legalized, people would still be growing their own pot and in doing so they would not have to pay the taxes on it. trust me id like to see it legalized, but in reality it will never happen

Says the guy who did 3 shots of grey goose over lunch yesterday. lol

Nah, I'm opposed to ME smelling/smoking it, but if you want to. You will not be in my house, in my car, on my property or within 100 feet of me or my property. I just don't like trouble and I would rather not be around it with a friend who works at the jail.

and yeah, there would be a way to regulate it, but just like with alcohol, there are going to be illegal shops and growing in basements, blah blah. Legalizing it won't make all the problems go away, but it will cost the US and the states a LOT less money to do it.

for the people who are asking why they arent banning cigarettes, well its in the works. when so many people smoke, its really hard to take away an addiction from them. especially when the people legislating and making the laws smoke themselves. they have already banned smoking from all bars and restraunts in the twin cities here and the statewide smoking ban is currently in legislation and looks to pass.
alcohol will probably never be banned because it isnt seen as much as an addition, unlike smoking and drugs.
fast food is already under the knife. healthy choice sides, better oils, smaller sizes... etc, but again... it isnt an additing substance.

personally, I dont smoke, dont do drugs, and only drink socially on rare occasions. never made sense to me to even start anything that was pounded in my head my whole life for being bad. I would much rather save my $4 a pack on smokes for a couple gallons of gas in my motorcycle.

I disagree. If that were the case why aren't people growing their own tobacco plants, or brewing their own alcohol (well its true that some people do). It's because why would people spend their time to do it themselves when it is readily available elsewhere? It's the same reason people don't mow their own grass, or cook their own dinner. It's all about conveniences. Sure it may be cheaper to do it yourself, but it's the simplest of all make or buy business decesions: Benefit/Burden.
