A hypothetical situation.

Ok, I would ask "god" to take me back to the very second he supposedly created everything, and then I would have him show me every biblically significant event first hand. THEN I would acknowledge his existence. BUT, I would not follow him at all.

If i were a 100% believing Christian, and god came to me and told me to kill my children, I think I would. IF I believed that I had no place in questioning him.

That statement was if I WERE to follow him. Its a completely separate statement.

I call that you've retracted.
You've clearly stated in the first quote that you'd believe but not follow.
In the 2nd quote, you state that if you believed, you would follow.
How are you going to disprove yourself?

*goes to get a beer and waits for this*

I actually think it was a success in multiple ways. Ways i haven't even told you about yet. It proved a lot of things to me tonight. I have far more motives than the ones I stated in this thread. But, one of them was not a hit job. Those are boring.

you just didn't get what a hypothetical question was.

The one where I said I would do it was the hypothetical, not the one I would really do.

I'm afraid the BS has piled up again.

You clearly stated that your OP was a hypothetical which was when you answered that you would follow.
My question was also indeed hypothetical...and you said you would not follow.
Well?

I said i would not follow YOUR hypothetical when god proved himself to me, and i would not follow.

When I responded to my OWN hypothetical, I said I would.

We're talking about several different hypotheticals that have no relation to each other. they are separate questions.

So there are different degrees of belief to you. With different consequences. Because you have a choice.

Then .. do tell .. what exactly ARE you doing then?

I'm trying to see if you will actually obey your god in a difficult situation.

You said you were asking the question to make a point or figure something out.

What was it?

Makes sense to me. I'm trying to see if people will have complete faith in their god, and obey him no matter what.

Tell me about it.

Sorry your ever so crafty trap / hitjob on Christianity had to blow up in your face like that. That's never fun. :(

Gotta be careful about shooting rubber bands at hornets nests. :D

:confused now I'm confused .. so you were up to something and when asked about it you lied and said you weren't .. then came back and outed yourself by saying you really are up to something?
