These are a few I've readily prepared previously. Tons to upload - but nearly bedtime so a few from 2007/2008.

For 2008, my lovely hosts took me on a road trip crossing to Vancouver Island from the coast, driving down with the final stop in Victoria. Wonderful time.

I'll donate a few tokens (say a measly 500 as I've not got a lot :p) to whomever can correctly guess whereabouts I was (not the obvious) in the last pic. Could be a bit hard so I'll hand out clues tomorrow if no one gets it.

I am going to guess looking toward Sheep, Domvile, and Brethour Islands from Coal Island.

True, it is there - :D Clue, it's on a ferry and it's on my way to my hosts. Only question is - there's a bazillion but can be narrowed down a bit by what I've said in the post :p Clue #2 - I made my way north after leaving Vancouver airport ;)

I had to go look them up - even though I'd heard of coal island. :p

I can see your line of thinking given what I've said but not quite there no. ;)

Unfortunately, I couldn't say. I'm not a flower novice let alone an expert so I've no idea (I'd class myself as YTS with regards to flowers - remember that scheme ?). I'm sure if my host was here she could say (it was at hers/her partners) - but she's not although I have mentioned this forum to them :)

edit: What I can say about the flowers is that my host said I'd come just as they were all mostly deflowering - I visited in August/September.

edit #2: Time to retire - will see if anyone has got it tomorrow (apologies for it being unfairly biased towards the Canadians I guess).

Location ? It would have helped if you would have mentioned your starting point on the island. :p I'm guessing you hit the rock at Nanaimo so I'll say just out of there. It's a tough one cuz the beach looks like a million places between the northern tip of the island down to Victoria.

Did I mention I would move to Campbell Rive in a heartbeat? Damn I love that place.

Nah, wasn't referring to the clues but just what I said about ending up in Victoria ;) I did you a disservice though I think, you are close in the sense of it being somewhere around the Vancouver Island/mainland area but not close in terms of where I was specifically.

Thanks - didn't hit there but I concur with the sentiment of wanting to move somewhere in a heartbeat :)

One thing I should clear up though is that only the last pic is relevant here - the others are random shots that have nothing to do with the last one.

Sorry if it seemed like all the pics were clues.

For both yourself/ssl/anyone else Canadian/familiar with the area:

We got on the Powell River ferry and went across to Comox and then drove down stopping at a few places but the last shot is not a shot from that Ferry, it's from another. Guess which route I was taking and given what I've said before in this thread ;)

EstonianGirl - the beach was a lovely one. If time had permitted, I'd have spent a while looking through the pebbles and whatnot for interesting things ;)

I've seen much of Skyblue's pics since i've been here - much less yours :p I need to backtrack old threads here I guess which I'll do later when home :)

p.s. you can always purloin my camera to get rid of me from here :p
