A friend of mine really gets into slot car racing, and he is VERY handy when it comes to building things. The track is completely "home made" from scratch, along with a computer to keep track of what's going on in the race.
My son had a GREAT time.He has some cars in capable hands that's able to do a lap in just under 3 seconds flat:eek

I used to love slot car racing with the boys across the road. They had a massive track under their house (although I though you're OP meant the horsies at first...thats a good day out too)
