I think smoking around children should be considered child abuse. Why would you want to harm them?

i would fine them more-- a childs lungs are worth it!
I'm repping the shit outta that, babydoll. :clap

America - land of the free, home of the brave.

But the problem with laws like this is that you can't legislate morality (if one considers this a morality and freedom of choice issue) and you can't legislate common sense and good judgement. It's a slippery slope. I get that. And yet, we have child protection laws all over the place.

But seriously, why would an attentive and conscientious parent smoke with their kids in the car? :wtf:

And making tobacco illegal would be stupendously catastrophic. Didn't work out so well when alcohol was illegal, and this would be worse. It would put tobacco in the back alleys ten times worse than anything out there. You'd have soccer moms going underground to their "dealer" to get a smoke, etc.

It would curtail tobacco use, but the problems it would create would outweigh the gains, which could be substantial, but still......

Sorry for your loss. Was it lung cancer?

Personally I like less government involvement in my personal life so even though I am not a smoker I don't like the idea much.

Was diagnosed as breast cancer originally, went into remission, resurfaced after 10 years and spread like wildfire all over, including lungs I believe. After resurface she was gone in a matter of 3 months. Tomorrow October 13 is the anniversary of her death.

So where do you draw the line then? Are you also going to ban alcohol, fast food, skateboards and other health risks so that your health insurance dosen't rise? They already banned alcohol once in America and look at what a disaster that was. What makes you think banning tobacco would be any less disasterous?
Hun I was just making a wishful statement that I wish the stuff was illegal. I can't stand the stuff and what it does to people. Again . . . a wishful statement . . . not a realistic one . . . at least not anytime soon it isn't.

I just wish that people were allowed to do what they want, if it hurts no one, without other people getting on their back about it. I guess we should just leave it there.;):smiley31:

Well, yeah I think people should be able to smoke by themselves if they want to. If they want wrinkles and yellow teeth, etc more power to em! ;) But I think its disgusting to see people smoke when there are kids around. Especially when there isnt even a window cracked in a car.

I wish they'd just make tobacco illegal period.

Oh they wont do it! They get paid too much off our deaths! The only thing they ban are things they cant regulate. The government doesnt care about your health! They care about your pocket book. I say to hell with alchohol AND tobacco! Fucking blood suckers...

Sorry...I..did not mean to rant...
