a book series from the 80s-90s

I think I was in 5th grade when i got to reading this kids novel... It was a kid who liked to invent things i believe one chapter of one book he invented a better baseball bat for him to play baseball. It was something along the lines of Einstein... Einsten Anderson maybe... I actually think that might be it, writing this jogged my memory. Anyone read these books?
